Collaborations

Verso Landfill Expansion, Jay, Maine

During the 2010 construction season, Summit collaborated with CMA Engineers from Portsmouth, New Hampshire to provide local, on-site support for the Phase I Expansion of the Verso Paper industrial landfill in Jay, Maine. Summit staff complemented CMA's expertise in landfill permitting and design with highly qualified on-site staff performing Resident Project Representative and Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) services. This 7.2 acre expansion included a "piggy-back" slope section, multiple composite liner and complex leachate collection and transport system. In addition of oversight and coordination of the soil CQA sub-consultant, Summit preformed geosynthetics CQA with GCI-ICP certified staff. Our relationship with CMA continues to develop, with projects including the Lewiston (Maine) Landfill Phase III Expansion and the Delaware Solid Waste Authority.
