November 2011
In November 2011 John Cressey, C.G,  and Michael Deyling C.G., P.Hg., of Summit successfully completed the National Association of State Boards of Geology (ASBOG) examination.  Mr. Deyling subsequently obtained is license as a Professional Geologist in New Hampshire, in addition to being a Maine Certified Geologist.

Mr. Cressey then passed the State of Maine Local Knowledge examination and was certified as a Geologist by the Maine Board of Certification for Geologists and Soil Scientists in December 2011.

Summit has once again been selected by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (MEDEP) as one of four pre-qualified Brownfields consultants.  Summit has been a Brownfields consultant for the MEDEP since 2005.  Under these contracts Summit has completed the following projects on behalf of the MEDEP to date:

  • 19 Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs),
  • 10 Asbestos containing materials (ACM) surveys,
  • 18 Phase II ESAs,
  • 4 Assessments of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives (ABCAs),
  • 8 Remediation projects,
  • 1 Underground Storage Tank (UST) removal,
  • 4 ACM removal work plans, and
  • 2 special projects (BioPile pilot project and Brownfields Grantee Meeting coordination).
